This pair from re/done is a great fit, not too tight, flattering on the bum, and the perfect summer hue of blue. This pair from Veronica Beard is insanely comfortable (almost like wearing sweatpants). The fabric is ultra lightweight and soft and also the perfect warm weather shade.

play - I loved summer nights as a kid…BBQ’s, staying up past our bedtime catching lightening bugs, and I’ll never forget throwing around a frisbee or playing badminton with my dad and sister. Most of the time we didn’t even have a net up! Check out this pretty set and here is a sportier version (which includes the net) from Target.

beach - EEEK! Found: my rattan beach chair is back in-stock, available, and from an “easy to order from” website! If you were following along last Summer this is huge news because these pretty beach/garden loungers were impossible to find in the US and were only shipping from Australia last year. Yippee!

make - This Grilled Vegetable Burrata Sandwich with Lemon Thyme Honey Mustard is so delicious you will want to eat it everyday for a week! It also works really well with goat cheese if you prefer that or have a lactose issue. Such a lovely lunch idea or dinner alternative to a burger! Service with crispy sweet potato fries.

local - The Darien Sport Shop is an incredible small business based here in Connecticut and they are now available to shop online! They have been family-owned and operated for over 75 years and I am so impressed with their assortment of Men’s, Women’s, and Children’s. I shared these sneakers for the boys on Instagram last week - the perfect summer shoe, easy to slip on and machine washable. My favorite part about the Sport Shop is their assortment of brands like Ulla Johnson, Sea, and Agolde. They often feature styles that are hard to find our sold out elsewhere like this pair of denim shorts (my absolute favorite for Summer). The best part of shopping small? The customer service! Don’t hesitate to call the store with any questions whether you’re local or shopping from afar.

SUMMER FAVORITES ON SALE

Doen_Dress_Stephanie_Trotta.JPG

my shopbop sale favorites

I have been in need of an underwear upgrade! After reading that they’re supposed to be replaced every 6 months to a year…it was time lol. I found this set from my favorite brand Cosabella and was waiting for it to go on sale!I also bought this pack of three.

I’ve always loved this braided gold necklace. This is a classic style thats currently on trend but never going away. Wear it with your t-shirt and jeans with a cardigan or throw it on over a dress with a simple neckline. It can be worn casual or dressy.

My favorite under $70 sunglasses sold out in the tan color but they are still available in black AND just released in tortoise! they are such a flattering frame, not too oversized, a slight cat-eye, and I think they look good on every face (my mom wore them the other day and they were great on her).

These are arguably the most flattering pair of denim I own. I cut the hem on mine which is why mine has a frayed edge (you can see how I did on my Instagram reels). They are under $100 and will just wear so well overtime. the fabric is a little stiffer then your classic jean so I suggest sizing up one size. Trust me…the low stretch means they never get baggy and remain SO flattering (especially from behind!).

make - 10 Overnight Oats Recipes That Are Full of Flavor, Fiber, and Protein. Love these recipes from Well + Good. I’ve been making a lot of oatmeal recently - It’s hearty, filling, and FODMAP friendly. I love that it’s also a great base for whatever I have in the fridge/pantry at the moment. I usually add banana, almond or peanut butter, cacao nibs, and berries depending on how recently I last went to the grocery store! This is also a great (and simple) recipe.

SO just ordered a few new sets including this classic one from Calvin Klein. Here’s an article debunking the semi-annual purge theory however still felt like it was time for a refresh!

I love the natural texture of them and they are a great addition to virtually any space: on the kitchen counter for produce, as a planter, as a bread basket, even to organize toys. You can never have enough in my opinion! I’ve had these for a while. I take them out in the summer and usually fill them with tortilla chips but they can also be used to store utensils or napkins if you’e having a casual dinner with friends. goop - Do Less: Cool-Girl Looks That Come Together in Minutes. I love the Spring trend we’re seeing in knits…stripes! This collared pullover from Alex Mill is perfect.

glamour - Prince Harry Just Gave an Interview About Why He and Meghan Markle Stepped Back. Click here to watch the full interview. The highlight for me was tea on top of the double decker bus lol. Love James Corden!

Architectural Digest - This Is the Restaurant of the Future. Patricia Urquiola and other hospitality designers on what the restaurant will look like in a post-COVID world.

tee - This week I did a sponsored style session with Walmart and it was hugely successful. By far my favorite item from the collaboration (and yours) was this $12 t-shirt. It is still available in a few sizes so I had to share it again here. The claw color is the perfect cream and the slight burnout texture makes it looks lux and soft. Highly recommend!

make - Recently my doctor suggested I follow a FODMAP diet for a few weeks as a way of determining what foods, spices, and beverages have been contributing to my tummy troubles. The rules aren't easy, no shallots, garlic, avocado, or chickpeas (I used to eat hummus 3+ times a week), but if it means feeling better, I’ll try anything! I was very pleased to discover that one of my favorite oatmeal recipes was FODMAP-approved! This banana bread porridge is delicious and satisfying. I make it with GF oats (no quinoa flakes) and I leave out the sugar. You can also add a nut butter to the top for a little added boost!

liberty - Doen has new arrivals for Spring and their latest collection is splurge-worthy! I love this liberty print blouse (which is on the pricier side) and this style in a similar print for less. They always make the prettiest white dresses.

blanket - I haven’t mentioned Zara Home in a while! Just perusing their new arrivals and found this perfectly neutral cotton and linen blanket. These are the best for picnic blankets and I also love using them as a tablecloth or on an outdoor table. I also love this classic linen style.

This year I made a commitment to share more budget-friendly and size inclusive style. I feel very strongly that looking and feeling great in your clothes doesn't have to mean breaking the bank and should be accessible regardless of size. This is why I love Free Assembly. So where do we start? With the classics of course:

A great pair of denim - high-waisted with just the right amount of stretch. * This pant runs small so size up

The perfect tee - when I say perfect I mean PERFECT. This one has just the right amount of slouch, a great neckline, and the quality is so great you won’t believe it was $12. PS The “claw” color is an amazing creamy dreamy shade that is SO hard to find. TRUST ME! * This tee runs TTS

A gray sweatshirt - These days comfort is key and this $20 sweatshirt is how to get there. Want to go all the way? Check out the matching sweatpants with the perfect gathered bottom to show off your sneaker. * This pant runs generous so size down

Why Free Assembly? I was so excited to first introduce you to Free Assembly a few months ago for a couple of reasons. Not only is the line good-looking and affordable, they are also committed to sustainability. Most of their cotton is organic, which avoids fertilizers and pesticides. This sweatshirt for example is made up of 60% organic cotton and 40% recycled polyester. Additionally their denim is produced in LEED certified facilities that aim to protect the environment. Free Assembly is also size inclusive and most items are available up to a size 24.

Thank you to Walmart for sponsoring this post
