Last month I felt like the luckiest girl in the world. We partnered with J Pepper Frazier, a premier real estate firm on Nantucket, for a dream family vacation. When we first visited the island last year, I knew I wanted to return (as soon as possible) this summer. It is truly a magical place unlike no other. If you’ve never been to the island It is at the top of my list of places to visit in the US.

JPFCO thinks of everything. They found us a home beyond our wildest dreams: walking distance to town, boy themed rooms including a playroom, and a pool setting that felt like something out of Cottages and Gardens. We all wanted to send for our things in CT and stay forever! 14 Old Westmoor, which is available for rent and for sale, is perfect if you’re traveling by yourselves, or with family. The house is divided in a way that everyone can spend quality time together and also have privacy when they want. Perfect for entertaining friends or in-laws!

FAMILY FIRST

From the moment we arrived, the house was set up for family time. The current owners have three boys so Luke and Harry were over the moon when they saw the surfer themed bedroom and an amazing loft playroom filled with toys. My favorite discovery was the bucket bike. I’ll never forget riding with the boys into town for lunch and then racing back in the rain.

While the boys were napping one afternoon I took a 30-minute soak in this incredible bathtub. It was two days into our vacation and it was great to stop and think about our time so far.

The one gift everyone in my family will be receiving this year? A ChappyWrap blanket! I was given my first ChappyWrap at a luncheon a couple of months ago and after a week with it at home, my family was hooked! Not only are they extremely soft and cozy, they’re also machine washable and so easy to take car of. We’ve already taken ours to the beach, on a road trip, and we recently threw it on top of the boys for a Thanksgiving morning walk. They are the perfect gift for everyone on your list but I think they’re especially great for a college dorm room (which is why my niece will be getting one!). We also used a ChappyWrap for our holiday card shoot:)

Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a great weekend. We took full advantage of our unplanned days and did some much needed work around the house. Its funny, I don't have a green thumb when it comes to indoor plants, but so far so good with the outdoor ones! Leaving the house today I really enjoyed walking past all the work we had done yesterday. So rewarding! Although if anyone has an pointers on grass I'll take them! We're trying to keep things as "natural" as possible because of the kids/dog but its really tough when you also want green grass! 

I'm so excited to officially launch e-styling today! What is that you might ask? Some days I think I might love a good jumpsuit more than a dress. There's nothing better than someone thinking you're wearing pants and SURPRISE...pants! PS pockets are always a bonus for me. Full length jumpsuits can almost always take you from day to night and they are absolutely a closet staple. I fell in love with this one as soon as I saw it. I usually don't love blue but the pale robin's egg color reminded me of a vintage Ralph Lauren pattern. it's definitely a splurge but I thought it was a great alternative to a dress for summer weddings, baby showers, etc, and I could really dress it up. EASY SUMMER STYLE

A HUGE announcement over here!! In January of 2017 I launched The Girl Guide as a creative outlet and a place to share my style with clients and friends. During this time I was managing a full time schedule at work which also meant travel to New York City and beyond. With the arrival of Harrison in May of 2017 the past 18 months have been an adventure to say the least! Last month I decided it was time to say goodbye to my career in fashion as I knew it and take a huge leap of faith in something bigger, myself! This means I will be dedicating all of my time to The Girl Guide and styling. The last two weeks have been filled with emotion (not going to lie fear has been the number one) but I am so excited for whats to come. I bought this shirtdress last month and I've worn it three times already! I also found this almost identical version here and here. When Frank and I went to Rhode Island for a last minute anniversary day trip a couple of weeks ago, I rolled it up into my beach bag in case I need a dress change and I did! If you've been following me for a little while now you know, I love white dresses! I saw this one and I had to have it. I was pleasantly surprised the price because the quality is excellent and it has a great weight to it. The fact that it can be worn as a wrap dress or a kimono was an added bonus and value! These sandals are also a STEAL! They come in black in this sandal version and are also offered in a high heel and sling back. Love the gray-blue color.

I'm addicted to neutrals. I don't know when it started really...I did wear color in college? And I used to wear more black...but somewhere along the way my love for a monochromatic and tonal look became my obsession. If I had to guess, growing up and going to Belgium every summer may have had something to do with it. From the youngest age I remember appreciating the white oak wide plank floors, natural linen fabrics, and grey stone accents. I've always associated home with this palette - its my comfort zone.

As a stylist my biggest challenge is stepping out of it sometimes. I started this blog not only as a creative outlet but as a place to share my style. It has been SO helpful when it comes to identifying a client's desired look and I love the challenge.  My jacket in these pics is old. It was a splurge purchase when I worked for Ralph Lauren but I knew it would go with everything and the quality is great. I found a similar color jacket here and a steal version here. I rounded up some of my favorite neutrals below. My jeans are old from Zara but I also linked a few available styles. You can't go wrong with winter white denim. I have a splurge pair and less expensive version because I wear them so often...but you can't go wrong with purchasing THESE!

PS these are the most comfortable boots I've ever worn. I love that I can slip them on hands free which is the best when I'm running out the door bag in one hand baby in the other!

WHAT TO PACK - BEACH

Anyone else in need of a dose of vitamin D? Why does it feel like the older I get the longer it takes for Spring to arrive? When I looked at the weather report for last weekend and saw 50 degrees I immediately thought of white cotton blouses and my new taupe suede slides. Frank laughed at me when I came downstairs dressed in an outfit I think I wore this summer in Sag Harbor (when it was 80 degrees). 

Have you guys checked out the shop tab yet? I just created a resort section that I'm pretty excited about! I will continue to update it with my favorites for any of you traveling to a warmer climate or dreaming of Spring like me. Here are a few of my favorites:

• THIS DRESS! I have a similar style that I've lived in for the last 5+ years. The silhouette is perfect for a casual-pretty-summer look, love the boho vibes, and for under $100 its a great value
• This strapless black dress is the perfect packable vacation piece. Roll it up and whip out for dinner on the beach with a statement earring. Also this set is on my wishlist!
• This rose water spray is my go-to for warm weather and for flying. Its fully of antioxidants and always helps me feel refreshed

I was never really a hat girl until I bought my first one from Hat Attack a couple of years ago. It was similar to this style and I lived in it last Fall/Winter. If you're looking for something to take you from city to country its perfect! I also love this style.
