Vanity Fair - Kate Middleton shows just how sustainable her wardrobe can get. I love that women like Kate send the message that fashion doesn’t have to cost a fortune and it doesn’t have to be one and done either.

The New York Times - Women’s unpaid labor is worth $10,900,000,000,000. If American women earned minimum wage for the unpaid work they do around the house and caring for relatives, they would have made $1.5 trillion last year! WHAT? Why don’t we place more value on unpaid care work? The world couldn’t function with out it.

Vogue - What you should know about International Women’s Day. I learned so much from this article like that there are specific themes for every year. This year’s theme is #eachforequal

Net-A-Porter - Kerry Washington on politics, protecting women’s voices, and her new series, Little Fires Everywhere.

Birkenstocks and Birkenstock-esque sandals have made a huge comeback over the last few years especially last summer and it looks like this one will be no different. Brands like Isabel Marant are designing their versions with some serious price tags. I was recently shopping Walmart for an upcoming partnership and was so excited to find these! Sharing some How to Style Inso below plus two under $40 styles that get you the look for less.

listen - Last night I was introduced to a new to me band, Mt. Joy. They are SO good. I’ve had this song, Jenny Jenkins on repeat all day! Look out for another Spotify playlist coming out at the end of this month. Here you can find Volumes one and two.

stock up - Coronavirus news is EVERYWHERE. Last week I decided that I didn’t want The Sunday Section to become a string of articles related to covid-19 and instead I want it to feel like a mini vacation from that news. When it comes to the virus my only real concern right now is what to do if our family needed to stay home for two weeks. Last week I started to get extras….rice, beans, granola. All the tings that we eat already (there will be no spam in tis house!). Here is a helpful article from Bon Appétite on how to prepare if you’re stuck at home for two weeks. Very happy to see Nutella on that list as I just bought a jumbo value pack from Costco!

reset - I’m not a big detoxes, dieter, or cleanser. I prefer smaller changes or shifts that I can turn into habits. However, I do like the idea of a 3-day reset like this one. Its broken down easily into categories and the pictures really help (it sounds so obvious but they really do!). What I’ve found helps with a short-term plan like this one is they allow me to practice resipes I may want to continue and its also short enough for me to finish what I started. A win, win!

coffee table book - I’m pretty sure this is my favorite coffee table book…ever. I love every photograph in this beauty. Athena Calderone’s style is inspiring, calming, and gorgeous, and I want to live in these pages.

It can be hard when you feel like you need a refresh in your life but because of scheduling, work, school, or financial reasons you just can’t get away. I’m not promising that this will replace the feeling of a beach vacation BUT it can help! Refreshing an area in your home can be done for under $100 and is a nice mood lifter. Here are some budget-friendly and neutral options i’m loving right now. Don’t forget to add an easy to care for plant like a fern!
