When I hear the name James Perse, the first thing that comes to mind is my favorite t-shirt. Born in Los Angeles, California in 1972, James developed an eye for high fashion and modern architecture at a young age from his Dad, founder of the LA store Maxfield. In 1991 however it was his love of sports which launched him into the industry. James felt he could never find the perfect baseball cap so he set out to design one for Maxfield. It was a huge success and in 1994 he launched his first women's line which would later evolve to include men's, children's, and baby collections. James Perse emphasizes elegance and comfort in his high fashion, low maintenance designs. It was no surprise to me when I first discovered his minimalist collection of furniture which focuses on warm west-coast indoor/outdoor living. I love the dog bed!
